One Body, Many Parts

Where do YOU fit in with the Body of Christ?
Are you a tooth, helping break God's word into bite-sized pieces the rest of His body can digest? Are you an eye, helping the rest of the Body to see where it is going? Are you the foot, going into the world to bring the Gospel into the workplace?
We learn in 1 Corinthians 12 that the Body of Christ (His followers, not His resurrected body) has many different parts that perform different functions, just like the human body. The human body is made of different types of cells, which combine into tissues, organs, and systems, and each has an important job.
Likewise, all of us who follow Jesus make up different parts of this same Body. God has put you in a specific place at a specific time for His specific purposes. Each part has a job, and these work together for the Body to function the way it should.
Accomplishing Kingdom business requires all of us working together--doing the right thing in the right place at the right time. Your toes cannot run by themselves; it is too big of a job for them. Running also requires your feet, legs, heart, and lungs to work together. Paul explained in 1 Corinthians 3:6-7 that he did not give the increase in the church. It was too big of a job for him, so God worked through him and Apollos to give the increase. God's business is almost always too big for an individual believer, church, or denomination. It takes the whole body working together.
The ChASM Project is one such Kingdom endeavor. One church has already opened their building to us, and I believe other churches and individuals will provide furniture, meals, pencils, transportation, and everything else God desires.
As part of the Body of Christ, I believe God has a role for YOU in the ChASM Project! Pray about how God wants YOU to help advance His kingdom through the ChASM Project. Does He want you to drive a bus, make a meal for 10 students once a month, help as a chaperone or tutor, or give financially to help meet our operational needs? Ask Him where He wants YOU to fit into the Body of Christ.
